BRIEF INTRODUCTION

    Quartz & Special Glasses Institute of China Building Materials Academy is a well-known national research and development organization. It consists of technology glass laboratory, functional glass laboratory, quartz glass new technology laboratory. The quartz glass materials key laboratory and BEIJING KINGLASS QUARTZ CO.,LTD. are governed by it. Quartz & Special Glasses Institute has become the only comprehensive institute for research, development, production, testing and technical training in China.
    Among the employees of Quartz & Special Glasses Institute, there are 1 national engineering academician and 5 professors at present, and 53 percent are professors, senior engineers and engineers. The institute has been engaged in research and development of quartz and special glass materials for more than 50 years. Up to date, it has completed 100 civil and military projects in the categories of " national science and technology " and " 863 high technology " , and won 5 medals on the national level, 30 medals on the ministry level. Furthermore, It had more than 10 patent rights in invention and utility models. The institute had developed advanced quartz glass, quartz fiber, industrial technology glass, special optical glass, and so on. All the productions are widely used in the fields of aviation, aerospace, electron, shipping, weapon, nucleus, industries and agricultures, which are satisfied with related requirements, improve technology advancement and adjustment of industry. The institute has made great social and economical achievements. 
    Quartz & Special Glasses Institute has built some enterprises to improve its development and meet the requirement of science and technology system reforming. The production lines for quartz glasses deep-processing, rolled glasses and sealing glasses have provided supporting rods of quartz glass, high pressure resistant gauge glasses, electron sealing glasses, and so on. The production line for anti-veiling glass used in night vision devices and the production line for advanced quartz glasses used in aerospace have been becoming perfect, productions have distinctive competent superiority in the market. In addition, special glasses for military have passed GJB9001-2001 QUALITY SYSTEM CERTIFICATION.
